Thursday 6 August, 6.00 pm
Brisbane Jazz Club, Kangaroo Point
For 25 years, on the first Thursday of every month, jazz singers have gathered to share the stage, take creative risks and celebrate the art of vocal jazz.
Established by acclaimed jazz vocalist and educator Ingrid James in 2001, the Jazz Singers’ JamNight (JSJN) has grown into a cherished institution, connecting generations of singers and musicians across a quarter of a century.
From its early days at the Travelodge Jazz & Blues Bar and later at Maggie Black’s Jazz Club, the event eventually found its spiritual home at the Brisbane Jazz Club in 2009. Held on the first Thursday of every month, the JSJN continues to attract enthusiastic performers and regularly packed audiences, a testament to its enduring popularity and community support.
The 25th Anniversary Celebration features inVoices, the premier vocal ensemble of the Queensland Conservatorium– comprising Jaryn Oliphant, Mia Hunt, Millie Milne, Molly Quant, Oliver Radcliffe, Riley Ducie and Rowan Farrugia, under the direction of Dave Spicer (piano/voice), with Samuel Vincent (bass) and Paul Hudson (drums).
Joining the celebration will also be special guest vocalists Pearly Black (Gold Coast), Cindy Donato, Liam Waldock, Stu Fisher, Penny Connolly-Coates, Guada Alvarez, Dave Spicer and more.
